July Excitement

Image
July has been a month of excitement! Full of championships and city skylines The Hoan Bridge- Milwaukee, WI (lit green for the Bucks) I did two boat parties,  a fireworks show, a webinar, a comedy show, and a symposium. This was a month to remember. I had no idea who "Trailer Trash Tammy" was. I do like the "veganish" trucker hat. My and my bro's at grandma's birthday boat party Sunrise boat cruise with buddy. Night view with the city skyline One of the besties- our family had ice cream pow wow'ed on ice cream day. Fear the Deer! My powder room selfie A DABCI doc and I I think that about sums it up. Now, where to begin: July 1st- my grandmother celebrated 90 years on this Earth. Her party was thrown on a boat in Milwaukee. July 4th- grandma's party. July 9th- a friend's going away party. She got a job at Amazon and decided to throw a party on a boat in Chicago. July15th- my first networking event post-pandemic. July16th- A comedy show. I have n...

How to Make and Enjoy My Gold Coffee

Image
 * Disclaimer*  I am not referring to Golden Coffee, an actual form of brew of coffee that is lighter and less acidic than standard black coffee. This is highly recommended for people who suffer from GERD or  IBS. Also, I should include in this disclaimer if you suffer from GERD or another IBS I would not recommend you make this. You could alter the ingredients as ginger can be an irritant.  Ahhh, that is better. Ok troops! I am always posting about my beautiful "golden coffee" on IG. ( If you are following me, you know I am always posting on there and not on here. So, I am still going to make an attempt to do my best. No promises though!) So, here is the "tee" on my coffee. The Ingredients Coffee- coffea arabica , This ingredient is widely cultivated and used especially in industrious first-world countries like where I am located in the United States. I am referring to the standard coffee as there are now variants. While pregnant with both my little ones, I enjoyed...

Been So Long! Updated Post

Image
Yup, pretty much this week and the last three months So, I will try to make my updated post as clear and positive as possible. I have been working- a LOT!!! We went through one nanny but with two parents working 45 minutes away from home- that can put a lot on someone. So, I leave home at 7AM and get home around 7PM. Once home, I have my cases and they have come in larger numbers. I have slowed down doing them because I get tired being on the computer so much. The good thing with work? While seeing how the patients are doing I am stretching and exercising along with them. I am, apparently, a big ball of energy and no one truly believes my age. Really? Forty-one year old women are not supposed to move like this? OK.  The highs and lows of attempting a vegan diet are better with planning. If I make my meals in the beginning of the week I have salads for the week and that helps a lot. I notice the salads and soups are quite energizing and I can even go, go, go with minimal slee...

How to Find a Sitter or Nanny

I have been extremely swamped with life in general but I am back with a helpful blog on finding a sitter or nanny. Most of my ideas come from conversations with friends and one that keeps coming to mind is childcare. Now, if you have been following my blog for a while- welcome back- and you know that we had some struggles every now and then with care for the home and my career decisions. You also know we are new homeowners. So, here we are- Two kids, both parents are working, and a house. Wait, who taking care of these kids!? Once I got my job, we did the transitional thing of sending the kids to my mother-in-law's where she had help from my brother-in-law. But, our kids are a little energetic and that online learning fell by the wayside when I went to work and the in-laws were not up-to-date on his schooling. So, what to do? We made the decision to find a nanny or a "sitter". (Sorry, I still don't feel like I am rich enough to hire a nanny.) So, we are currently onb...

Veganuary: The fight for vegans (part I)

Image
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!  As we head into a new year, I am advancing in my studies to work in functional medicine but not yet seeing any patients as I got back into a different field of my Chiropractic work. Basically, I am going two different directions. So, I am going to add some of my knowledge on here while I get my other blog back started in order to gain some insight on other foods. I am placing it on here because I began my vegan journey last year with some mild hiccups but I tried to add recipes on here. So, here is the first of a series that I am encountering. I am noticing the push back . So, this will be a series of supplements that can be used as being a vegan. Here are the headlines for vegans: -low iron -low protein -low white blood cell count -low B12 -low choline  Now, some of the foods that I place on here are for people just jumping into this plant life. I do not recommended continuing many of the "like" products for a long remainder of time. Why? Because it ...

A Teary December Post

Image
*Disclaimer, I may tear up so I am assuming you will too* So long. So many things that have happened.  I moved to Chicago from nearby Milwaukee slightly over 15 years ago. I didn't know that many people. I had no networks. I just had one "friend" and a guy who wanted to marry me. I had just lost my father. We were selling his home. I rented a UHaul truck and moved with some friends and family helping me into my plush apartment near the lake. The first day I moved, I met my now-husband. This man, the youngest in a family of 10. A different culture from me. I made the decision to become a doctor- a chiropractor at that which is considered a meta-doctor. I never had plans to marry. I was supposed to leave Chicago and Illinois after seven years. I never had intentions to have children. I didn't want to work with auto-accident cases. I didn't want to work in workman's compensation. I just wanted that fabulous professional life with my professional friends, travel...

The Great Conjunction- Function: What does it all mean?

Image
If you are living under a rock or not into Google, you most likely did not see this picture:  So, if you did see this and think: how cute! Let me click on this. You already know. So, today is December 21st which is the winter solstice. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, it marks the astrological first day of winter is the longest night of the year. What you may not know is that two planets are aligned so it appears as if they are giving each other a "high-five". They call this a conjunction when planets are aligned. How cute, right? They have not been this close since 1663, so this is an epic event. So, you will be seeing something that Galileo saw when he devised telescopes. This event happens every 20 years but every 321 years or so where you can see it in great detail. Both of these planets are beautiful, not like Earth but beautiful. Now, if you are like me and live in an area of light pollution, most likely you will see a star and a planet. Here, in Chicago proper, ...
