Sympathy for the Devil

"Sympathy for the Devil" is currently a song I am listening to as I am in one of the many offices contemplating my life. I was let go from the office that I have been brooding over for the past two years and while I should be depressed, feeling like I am cursed and in tears I am actually excited!   Music always seems to get me right when I need it. For the past year, I have been listening to K LOV Contemporary Christian music and at times I have had phone calls with some sad news. I have become a warrior of prayer and thanking God daily for all He does for me and my family. I have recently been drawn to Coldplay "Adventure of a Lifetime" may be because that is what life is- an adventure! You work a job, you love a job, you hate a job, you go on vacation, you keep pressing forward when nothing else is going right, you suffer, you succeed because this is all what shows we are alive. You take the good and the bad and see it all as good and a purpose and continue to ...

A Daunting Task. . .To Someone with Anxiety

Yes, I have anxiety but the medical world knows nothing about it. I try to display to my friends my confidence but I have yet to pull it out when it matters most. I think some of my friends knew this and headed for the hills when it came to hanging out with me or that I could be someone's wife and someone's mother and I have lots to do I guess as someone once told me, "You are a mother. You can't do everything."   So, of course trying to make my own dreams come true seems very much like a daunting task. I won't go too much into detail as I read in Napoleon Hill's book that you should never make public your plans. I guess this is more of an inspirational entry and less of a, "Hey, look at me! I am revealing myself to you for you to gawk at me." type of entry. I am preaching to the choir of you as well as myself. May be I have a new crazy that I have yet to identify with. Oh great, multiple personalities.   Take a deep breath and. . . GO FOR IT...

The Beautiful Biracial Family

You always think that you are the odd couple that has that look like you aren't supposed to be with your family. I am happy that biracial families are being displayed on TV but they look like model families. The man is an extremely handsome black man and the woman is white. I have written a post about this earlier about the multicultural families that are not displayed on TV. Now that I walk around my neighborhood, I see them and they are not models or actors.    Today, I was getting my son ready to go home from swim class and I saw one of the most beautiful Black woman. She had small senegalese twists and a perfect white smile. She was getting her nine month old son ready for his first swim class. Her son was almost the same color as my two and a half year old and he had big, soft curls in his head. We talked and she was only a year older than myself but we never mentioned the fact that we noticed that our kids didn't look exactly like us- meaning that we had an unspoken con...
