Immunity Boost While at Home

Image
Immunity boosting while at home if you have the coronavirus or not is something imperative as we are all learning. I will be adding links and YouTube videos so you can get some tips, cooking ideas and other ideas for you and your family. And besides, I can not come to your house and nurse you back to health if you get "Dat Rona". How a Wuhan nurse recovered from the coronavirus from home I have seen many researched pieces that I want to share with you. Mainly because I am sure you are tired of seeing me click claking away at this computer to send nonsense. The first thing you want to do to boost your immune system to better fight "Dat Rona" is. . . SLEEP!!!! Yes, I hope you read that correctly. If you are anything like me, your mantra is sleep when you die . That is not a good way of thinking right about now because you can better beat Dat Rona with some sleep. I do not mean 6 hours- how about 8 hours of sleep. UNINTERRUPTED SLEEP!!! I can not emphasize th...

Day 4 at home in the "New Normal"

Image
You know? I hate to call this the "New Normal". This is just until this virus passes. More people will wash their hands and keep some form of social distancing. So, here it is Thursday and I have taken this week off from work. I intend to go back next week and hubby will take off the week before but we have to figure out to maneuver and still make an income that will provide for our family such as groceries. Since I am home, it reduces my need for jumping in the car so less opportunity to get gas. We have been less wasteful with food as I am eating my scraps more so reducing the need for groceries but we have many bulk items that I purchased way before there was a threat. The things we grab from the grocery store- herbs, butter, milk, eggs and fresh produce. Fresh produce is available in good numbers as canned goods are sparce. In my home, we don't buy a lot of canned goods anyway so it didn't slow our groove. Golden Coffee 1 tblsp tumeric almond milk creamer ...

Maya Angelou's "Still I rise"

Still I Rise BY  MAYA ANGELOU You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I'll rise. Does my sassiness upset you? Why are you beset with gloom? ’Cause I walk like I've got oil wells Pumping in my living room. Just like moons and like suns, With the certainty of tides, Just like hopes springing high, Still I'll rise. Did you want to see me broken? Bowed head and lowered eyes? Shoulders falling down like teardrops, Weakened by my soulful cries? Does my haughtiness offend you? Don't you take it awful hard ’Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines Diggin’ in my own backyard. You may shoot me with your words, You may cut me with your eyes, You may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I’ll rise. Does my sexiness upset you? Does it come as a surprise That I dance like I've got diamonds At the meeting of ...

Our New Normal- Day by Day

Image
Yes, I am making more of an effort to post making up for the countless months of abandonment. Can you ever forgive me? If not, it is okay- not a lot of people read this blog so you are good. YouTube They are releasing some free movies. I saw SheDevil at work and it gave me a much needed laugh Cable Providers Leaving many free movies and giving free subscriptions for showtime, HBO, Starz. Check with your provider to see if you get some free goodies. ( We have Xfinity- comcast in IL) I guess this is in fact due to the lock down here in IL as we are not permitted to leave the house starting 5PM today. The day is murky and I am not willing to take the kids out but I feel like I have no choice. This is the time where I will have to come up with a plan for me and my kids as I am taking a week off the office. I am worried if the office will even be open when I get back on the 30th of March. So many arrangements! So many up in the air's! I know I am not alone in this. So, after th...

Takeout in the COVID-19 world!

Image
WELCOME TO COVID-19 WORLD! Where you can't leave your house! You don't have a job and if you do, you are restricted to your computer. I called a week off to regroup, disinfect my computer and home and to reassure the owner that I am coming back. ( I left my chiropractic table there as ransom that I am coming back. Mama loves her chiro table!) When I got home last night, what did I do but check out this "order and deliver" method. These days I have not been dining in anyway so I continued my "faith" in GrubHub. And, as there is no secret in my location I am in Chicago, IL. With being in a big food mecca as I am the list of entrees is endless. As a new baby vegan, the supply is also selective. I wanted to try a place I have not eaten in yet and I believe the universe has been providing me with more selection for my culinary life pattern. I heard a lot about a newer place called Ground Control! which has sprung in Logan Square neighborhood which is not far fr...

COVID-19- Another post about the Coronavirus

Image
Hello Boys and Girls! Are you keeping your social distance? Good! WELCOME TO 2020- Home to COVID-19 or the Coronavirus Since this is going to be yet another post about the coronavirus I will try to keep it light hearted. During this time of uncertainty there is one thing that I wish I could do. . . DRINK!!! Nah, I'm kidding but I would not mind something cheese or some bread to eat all day. . . YASSSSSS!!! The stress is nerve wrecking as I am running (still) to work with case deadlines, kids to prep for two locations- my planner is neglected but somehow I am STILL vegan! What gives? Well, if you have taken a peek at major grocery stores it is somehow easier to stay at my decision. . . This picture was taken by myself and this right here- is Whole Foods on a Saturday afternoon. I sent this picture to some and they commented on how I was right. Ha! Right, ain't rich I just wanted to see for myself which I am sure many of you have. I thought it would pass after ...

March Music and Reading

In 2020, I am reading a book every month. One book that I can hold in my hands and read. So far, this has become an explosion of books to read. January- 7 Habits of Highly Efficient People  By Steven Covey February- How to Win Friends and Influence People By Dale Carnegie     (also- two e reader books and an audiobook- "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill) This month, I took a turn out of the inspirational self help books and decided to read my own. The reading is much more light as I have a few more books to read. If you may not know, I am a self-publishing writer. I have self published two works which have not fell on many eyes. This month, I feel as if I am moving further from Christ so I decided to read myself to give me a boost. Music Lists I noticed I have been gravitating towards select music. I have not been doing a lot of TV lounging so music and reading have been my escape. January was a little more juvenile since I spent a lot of my weekends at ...
