Day 1 of "Sabbatical"

Image
LOL!! I have declared my walking away from my job as a "Sabbatical". I woke up late and realized I was supposed to go to my son's school and pick up his awards and clothes. Then, I realized my daughter's tablet was cracked. UGH! So I had to call Amazon and return it back to them and head over to UPS. No worries. I have to go anyway because I need to take the other two Fires back for a trade-in deal. Well, I forgot to print out the shipping packages and can't remember my password. So, I reward the kids by going to Dollar Tree and getting all sorts of glow in the dark items and sparklers for this weekend. We come home to eat, go through our books and lessons and then, it rains so no one is going outside. All while I am trying to wash clothes and attempt at washing dishes which didn't happen until the evening when my husband got home. I thought this was going to be easy. I passed out in front of the computer last night because I never finished my remote wo...

Homeschooling 101- part 1

Image
Congratulations! You are homeschooling! Since we had a bit of a primer due to this pandemic, I am not sure I really went into how I began homeschooling my son. He also seemed quite fond of wanting to learn more so I gave him that while his interest was still there. 2. What kind of mom or dad are you?       I found out that structure doesn't really work for me ...

Juneteenth Eve 2020

Image
Here we are, June 18th, 2020- or should I say, Juneteenth Eve. Yes, I have been pretty silent through most of June and that was not due to a busy schedule as I normally say. It is was because I simply was tired and emotionally exhausted. I have been on social media- almost daily. The hatred. The anger. I have been praying because yes, I am still a Christian. (Sorry, there are a lot of Christian bloggers or maybe that is all I attract when I am going through blogs. They have a lot of great things to say but their bio mentions they are Christian. This is a good thing.) I have been saying this for years ALL. OF. THIS.  I can be a dangerous weapon because I worked in a library throughout college and even during summer vacation and winter vacation. While putting away books, you find things. Things that probably don't get checked out very often. You learn about the South after the Civil War when they emancipated all slaves. You learn about the reluctance of President Lincoln freei...
