A Month since the Fast Excitement

Happy One Month Bubie!

Info on Jonny baby:

  At the Pediatrician's office- he is currently 9 lbs 10 oz and 23 inches long which puts him at a 95th percentile.

So, we have a long and healthy baby boy. Since I have been pregnant I prayed with all my heart to my Heavenly Father to help me to deliver a healthy, happy baby boy. He has not really done too much smiling yet only in his sleep but I have a feeling once he starts smiling and laughing he may not be able to stop since at home we are always smiling and laughing! While he gets his diaper changed he listens to music with mommy and I have to get up and grab him and dance around his nursery with him! This is before he is nursed which has been sooooooo much better since the beginning. (I guess I skipped the part where I was supposed to talk more about nursing him.)

Most women as I am told are in awe from the moment their child is out of their womb. I didn't know what to feel honestly- I was in shock as if I had an outer body experience because I just birthed a child. I even questioned my body after he was born as the nurses and the doctor kind of laughed and said, "you just had a baby." which is why I went ahead and had him become my "roomie" as he never went to the nursery. They all said he was such a cutie which I never noticed.

I just kept looking at him in shock. This little person came out of me. WOW!!! Not sure if he is cute or who he looks like. I know he is ours but. . . MAN!!! Even as he nursed I could not even fathom that I was a mom but I held it together. I made sure he was on my chest when he was born and he even looked up at me. That should have been the moment I cried and instantly fell in love with him and instead I was like, "whoa! He looked up at me." Again, I was having an outer body experience. The love and tears did not hit me until I got home. Since then, I have been thanking God ever since.

He is currently 5 weeks as of yesterday (Wednesday) and he looks different from the little baby alien that I birthed out so fast. How have I been?

Still trying to get back to being myself but it is a little difficult. I miss running and yoga greatly but next week is my 6 week appointment so I will be back to running events. Thus far, I am loving and hating all my excess hair but I have taken to wearing my baby. . . a lot!

Co sleeping, baby wearing, resources and having a doula made a huge difference! I never got mastitis but as soon as I feel the engorgement coming on I begin to pump as well as nurse. Vince has been feeding the baby now. He doesn't cry that much as I contribute it to all of that. We speak to the baby currently in Spanish and English so there are times when I am giving him my nipple where I will say, "Abierto" for him to open his mouth. He is beginning to understand both or I am just crazy. ( I think it may be the later. LOL!) Some nights I will read to him- either Dr. Seuss "The Lorax" (Thanks Anissa!) or Pablo Neruda. I have made up many songs for bedtime, nursing, diaper changing and soothing him. I think he likes me kissing him like crazy though because he moves his head to where my mouth is and open as to kiss me back. So, with him waking up and needing to nurse I end this entry. Where does the Time go?

 I know where my time goes- into treating patients. I am loving this life of treating numerous and multiple patients. Maybe from the suppression of seeing accident and worker's comp patients.  That is really me treating- no Photostock/AI pictures! Side Note: This was created in February 2025. It was stopped and completed in April 2025.  With changes in the schedule, it has been difficult to maintain this blog. I am keeping current and will begin to have a schedule where I post once a month. Wish me luck!

Food, Air and Water Show and NAILS

Today has looks very similar to yesterday- work out, eat when you can, read, clean, computer searches for jobs along with ideas and concepts. This morning I went for a run and it looked like rain so I shortened the run and went a little faster just because I did not want to be like the old guy in the tale "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and get struck by lightning. Hubby somewhat shocked me today because he asked about the Air and Water Show. I asked why and he thought it would be good for both of us to go either this year or next year. I have always hated the Air and Water Show because when I lived two blocks from the lakefront I could never nap or focus because of the noise of the planes. One thing about living in the city I do not like and that is all the noise pollution. I have pretty sensitive hearing so at times my hearing goes out for a day once it went out for three days and when I say goes out I mean it feels and sounds like someone put cotton in both my ears...
